Luminous paint
One type of glow in the dark paint glows in the dark after absorbing and releasing light sources such as UV rays. Phosphor, which is a chemical substance, is added to the paint. When the paint is exposed to light, the phosphors absorb the light and are energized. The phosphors begin to lose this energy and release it as light of their own. This causes the paint to glow which you can only see in the dark. The glow will fade over time, but when exposed to light again, the process starts over again. Light is absorbed again by the phosphors and released again to make the paint glow.
